Administrative
Our litigators represent parties in administrative proceedings before governmental agencies, appearing before numerous federal and state agencies in a variety of government regulatory areas. The firm handles judicial appeals from administrative decisions, as well as original actions against governmental agencies for injunctions or declaratory judgments.

Alternative Dispute Resolution
Many disputes are amenable to early resolution through mediation, arbitration, or other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Our litigators recognize that these alternative means of dispute resolution can be economical and advantageous prior to or during litigation and are thus a desirable alternative to our clients. Our litigators possess vast experience in representing clients’ in such proceedings. Several of our attorneys are also formally trained and periodically serve as mediators or arbitrators.

Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights
Our bankruptcy and creditors’ rights attorneys regularly handle all aspects of complex litigation for debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, and trustees. Litigation we handle includes preference, fraudulent conveyance and equitable subordination actions, objections to discharge, non-dischargeability claims, debtor-in-possession financing and cash collateral disputes, claim objection and resolution, relief from automatic stay motions, adequate protection motions, contested disclosure statements and litigation over proposed reorganization plans, asset sales disputes and director and officer liability litigation. Our lawyers also are experienced in commercial litigation that is adjudicated in the bankruptcy courts.

Environmental
ShapiroCroland represents clients in connection with complex environmental issues and contamination claims brought under CERCLA, RCRA, and other state and federal environmental statutes. In our representation of individuals and corporations in various types of enforcement actions, our attorneys regularly appear in federal and state court, as well as in front of administrative tribunals and arbitrators.
