Since coming to ShapiroCroland, after serving as law clerk to the Honorable Herbert S. Glickman of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, Family Part of Essex County from 1984 through 1985, Meridith has achieved a substantial degree of recognition in the practice of Family Law. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Drew University, Meridith received her law degree from Seton Hall Law School. She has been recognized as a New Jersey Super Lawyer every year since its commencement in 2005.
Meridith is certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Matrimonial Law Attorney. She has devoted the past 25 years to handling complex matrimonial matters that require an astute knowledge and understanding of sophisticated financial issues. She has been involved in high profile cases and represents all of her clients with sensitivity and practicality. Over the years she has developed an expertise in issues related to privately held businesses, complex valuation matters, corporate benefits (including but not limited to stock options, restricted stock, deferred benefit plans, and retirement benefits) as well as support related issues.
Well known for her ability to draft precise and detailed agreements, Meridith has been called upon by other attorneys to assist in drafting documents. She has expertise in negotiating and drafting property settlement and support agreements, custody and parenting agreements, premarital agreements and cohabitation agreements.
A member of the Family Law Sections of the Essex County, New Jersey State and American Bar Associations, Meridith has lectured to numerous groups regarding matrimonial issues and has written for a national publication in connection with property settlement agreements and prenuptial agreements. Meridith has been appointed by the courts as a guardian ad litem in matrimonial cases, and she has participated as a panelist in the Early Settlement Panel Program and Blue Ribbon Panel Programs (for highly complex and substantial matters) helping attorneys and litigants resolve their disputes. Pursuant to an appointment by the New Jersey Supreme Court, Meridith is a former member of the Bergen County (District IIB) Ethics Committee.
